When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn't love at first sight. They wouldn't even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn't want love; she doesn't have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future. They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.
A new Colleen Hoover book? Yayyy!!!
*jumps and throws confetti all around*
*reads the plot summary*
*stops and stares at the screen*
To be awfully honest, I'm not sure of what I am feeling after seeing the cover and after reading the plot summary. I am not completely drawn by both the plot and the book cover.
The plot seems to be a little too close to other books in the New Adult genre – friends with benefits (or in this case, not so friends), deep dark secrets from the past threatening to be revealed, and feelings getting the best of both characters. I have already read quite a few stories like this, but I am still curious and very interested to read and see what Colleen has in store for her fans. And who knows? Maybe she has written an incredible plot twist will be the death of us, readers. It's not impossible. Duh! It’s Colleen Hoover, one of the authors who can give us the major feels. And based from her previous books, I have a feeling that Ugly Love will be as good, as heart-wrenching as the others.
As for the cover, it is plain, clean and simple – big bold font, same as her previous books, in different shades of blue depicting a sort of underwater environment. I was not expecting the cover of Ugly Love to be like this. I was imagining a cover with a girl and a boy in a (maybe) sort of steamy moment. Or maybe just a girl (or a boy) on the cover, like Slammed or Hopeless. Although I was a bit surprised when I saw how simple the cover was, I still think it looks pretty good. It’s a little intriguing, actually; gives a little hint of an important element of the story – water (maybe?).
If you want to know more about Ugly Love, or any other book by Colleen Hoover, or Colleen Hoover herself, you can visit her website (click HERE). She posts lots of fun stuff, like the soundtracks of her books, some personal stories (which are also fun to read), and her awesome Book-A-Day Giveaway. I swear, she is just so awesome like that. Who would even think of giving away books and merch every single day of the year to fans? She did.
Okay... enough already. Bye! :)
